1. How big are the lots in Hawk’s Landing?
A: The lots range in size from .5 acres to 1.40 acres. View the interactive map on the website to see the details of each individual lot.
A. You are welcome to work with the builder of your choice to achieve your dream home vision in Hawk’s Landing. The price of your home and lot will depend largely on the price of your lot and the scale of your vision. Our architecture and sales teams would be more than happy to tour the lots with you and help you select the perfect lot for your perfect new home. 2. How close to Calgary is Hawk’s Landing?
A. Hawk’s Landing is conveniently located a quick 15 minute highway drive from the communities of Shawnessy and Evergreen in southeast Calgary. The picturesque (and peaceful) drive will quickly take you to everything you need; grocery shopping, movie theatres, retail shopping, banking, dining, public transportation and medical and dental services. It’s closer to Calgary than Cochrane, but only a short drive to Kananaskis Country.
3. What does “fully-serviced” lot mean?
Most estate and acreage lots lack the essential services necessary to get up and running right away. Many will require that a well be drilled, as well as a septic tank installed to deal with waste. Hawk’s Landing lots include water and sewer, meaning you don’t have to worry about the extra cost associated with building these services into your acreage lot. Each home owner will own one share in the Hawk's Landing Services Co-op, the owner of the sewer and water facilities in the subdivision. Approximately $55,000 per lot has been invested for the installation of carefully engineered urban quality sewer and water facilities. Monthly utility service charges are set at $272.44/ month + GST and owners will also be invoiced by the Hawk’s Landing Services Co-op (HLSCL) for their monthly metered potable water usage a current rate of $5.55/m3 + GST.
4. Will I have telephone and internet service in Hawk’s Landing? What about VoIP service?
A: Residents in Hawk’s Landing have the added advantage of optional access to state-of-the-art, high-speed fibre optic internet service through Platinum Communications. Platinum offers special installation and service packages to Hawk’s Landing customers for their fibre optic internet and “voice-over-internet” telephone service. Standard internet and telephone service is also offered through Telus.
5. Where are the Fire and Emergency services located?
A: The Priddis Creek Fire Association and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are located in the fire station directly across Hwy 22X from the community of Hawk’s Landing. Firefighting equipment, an ambulance and EMS personnel are housed in the fire station on a 24 hour basis.
